Yes. seefax is a player — it doesn't provide any content. You need an existing IPTV subscription from a provider of your choice. If you don't have one, search for "IPTV provider" to find one that suits you.
When you first open seefax, you'll be asked to add a provider. You can either:
- Paste your credentials — copy your Xtream Codes URL or M3U link and paste it in. seefax detects the format automatically.
- Scan a QR code — on the provider setup screen, tap "Scan from phone." seefax shows a QR code on your TV. Open the QR link on your phone, enter your credentials there, and your TV picks them up automatically. No typing on the remote.
seefax supports Xtream Codes (the most common format) and M3U playlist URLs. If your provider gives you a server address, username, and password — that's Xtream Codes. If they give you a single URL ending in .m3u or .m3u8 — that's M3U.
Partially. Your channel list is cached locally, so the app will open and show your channels without internet. You won't be able to play anything — live streams and on-demand content need an active connection to your provider.
Try these in order:
- Press the back button and select the channel again.
- Check your internet connection is working on the TV.
- Try a different channel — if others work, the issue is with that specific stream.
- Check with your IPTV provider — they may be having an outage or your subscription may have lapsed.
- Go to Settings → Provider → Refresh now to reload your channel list.
Most playback issues are provider-side, not app-side.
This usually means one of two things: your IPTV subscription has expired, or your provider limits how many devices can stream simultaneously. If you have another device or tab open and streaming, close it first.
Try Settings → Playback → Default stream quality and lower it. Also check your internet speed — live HD streams need at least 10 Mbps.
Press the Menu button on your remote while watching. A panel will appear with available audio tracks and subtitles for that stream.
No. seefax works fully without an account. An account is only useful if you want to sync your settings, favourites, and watch history across multiple TVs.
Sign in with the same Google or email account on both TVs (Settings → Account → Sign in). Once signed in, your provider settings, favourites, watch history, and preferences sync automatically.
Go to Settings → Account → Delete account. You'll be asked to confirm — this is permanent and cannot be undone. It deletes everything we hold about you: your account, synced provider settings, watch history, and favourites. The app continues to work after deletion using locally stored data.
A Tuned In folder is a keyword search you save. Give it a name and up to five keywords — seefax scans your EPG and On Demand catalogue and shows you what's on now, coming up, and available to watch. Useful if you follow specific shows or sports and don't want to hunt for them.
Smart Folders are automatically generated based on your watching habits. "Most Watched" ranks the channels you spend the most time on. "Top Categories" does the same for channel categories. They update as you watch — no setup needed.
While watching, press OK to bring up the overlay, then select "Sleep timer." Choose a duration (15, 30, 45, 60, 90, or 120 minutes) or "End of programme" for live TV / "End of film" for on-demand. The app fades out and returns to the channel list when the timer runs out. You'll get a two-minute warning.
It saves you typing on the remote. seefax shows a QR code on the telly — scan it, fill in your details on your phone, and the TV connects itself. You can also go straight to seefax.tv/pair on your phone.
No. seefax has no advertising, no ad network, and no data sharing with advertisers. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.
Your credentials are stored on your device only. If you're signed into a seefax account, they're also synced to your private Firestore document — encrypted, accessible only to your account. We never see them. They're never sent to us.
