IPTV not working? A quick troubleshooting checklist
Was this guide useful?
When IPTV stops working, the fix is usually quick — once you know which part is at fault. Work down this list in order and you'll normally find it in a couple of minutes.
First, the 30-second checks
- Is your internet working? Open something else to be sure. IPTV needs a steady connection.
- Restart the app, then the device.
- Try a different channel. If others play, it's that one stream — not you.
Nothing plays at all
Usually the source, not the app:
- Subscription lapsed or expired.
- Details entered wrong — re-check your M3U link or Xtream login (setup guide).
- Provider outage — nothing you can fix at your end; wait, or ask them.
"Not authorised" or "refused"
- Your subscription has expired, or
- Too many devices are streaming at once — providers cap this. Close another stream and try again.
Buffering, stuttering or freezing
Nearly always the connection or stream quality, not the player:
- Test your speed — HD needs roughly 10 Mbps.
- Lower the stream quality in settings.
- Go wired, or move closer to the router.
The full version is in fixing IPTV buffering.
The guide is empty (no EPG)
- Some providers don't supply full guide data.
- You can often add an EPG URL in settings.
- Here's what an EPG is and why it's sometimes patchy.
Black screen with sound, or sound with no picture
- Usually a format the device can't handle for that particular stream.
- Try another channel to confirm it's stream-specific.
- Check the audio and subtitle track selection.
Still stuck?
If one player struggles with a source another handles fine, the app may be the weak link. seefax is built to keep playback and browsing steady — but it's a player, so a dead provider or a poor connection will defeat any app. The support page has more.
Common questions
Why is my IPTV not working?
Most often the source — an expired subscription, wrong details, or a provider outage. Buffering is usually your connection. Work through the checklist above to pin it down.
Why does it say “not authorised”?
Your subscription has expired, or too many devices are streaming at once. Close other streams and check your subscription is active.
Why does my IPTV keep buffering?
Almost always the connection or stream quality, not the app. Test your speed, lower the quality, or go wired. More in fixing IPTV buffering.
Why is my TV guide empty?
Your provider may not supply full EPG data. You can sometimes add an EPG URL in the app's settings.

seefax is a media player. It does not provide, sell or supply IPTV channels, playlists or subscriptions. You bring your own provider, and should only use content you are legally allowed to access.
